The European Association of Traditional Games and Sports (AEJeST) is a non-governmental organisation created in 2001 in Lesneven (France). It comprises a network of networks of different European institutions around traditional games and sports. It comprises more than 100 organisations: educational (universities, training schools), federations, sports associations, cultural associations and museums. It is also made up of individual members who are sensitive to this type of activity and the values they promote. All together, collective and individual members try to be a network of networks for the promotion and safeguarding of traditional games and sports as intangible cultural heritage of humanity.

The AEJeST is represented in 17 European countries: Spain, France, Italy, Portugal, Belgium, Greece, Croatia, Hungary, Poland, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Serbia, Bosnia Herzegovina, North Macedonia, Romania, Russia and Switzerland. Our organisation is recognised by UNESCO and collaborates with the Intergovernmental Committee for Physical Education and Sport (CIGEPS). It is also one of the founding members of the International Traditional Sports and Games Association (ITSGA), represented by continental organisations from Africa, Asia, America and Europe. The cultural heritage that the traditional games and sports bring together constitutes an authentic wealth of European culture and of the rest of the existing societies throughout the planet.

Established in 2012, MVI is today a global actor closely cooperating with its 37 member organizations, international NGOs and public/private sector stakeholders. A network of NGOs around the globe aimed also to promote participatory planning and exchange of knowledge among professionals in the field of UN and European funding and project design. As non-profit “association of associations” MVI intends to carry out social involvement and community building activities for its members and stake holding (third) parties encouraging participation, freedom and dignity of its members.

The scope of interest of MVI aligns to inclusive, sustainable and reflective societies – in short social innovation and align to the themes covered by the Erasmus+ programme such as social inclusion, gender equality, by means of Social Entrepreneurship, Non-Formal Education, Education through sport and fostering of international Mobility. In its ordinary activities, MV International promotes the creation of networks at local level to foster the socio-cultural and economic development of Sardinia rural and remote areas.

Institute for the Development of Sports and Education (IRSIE) has been operating since 2011. It has based its activity on cooperation with non-government and higher education organisations, associations, clubs, schools and universities.

The foundation works mainly in the fields of sports, recreation, culture, physical culture, cultural heritage, tourism and education. It engages in innovative solutions in various areas of social life and promotes innovative methods and forms of educating sports staff.

Our mission:

  • promote intercultural dialogue, education through sport and culture,
  • promotion of sport and physical activity,
  • dissemination of knowledge about the tangible and intangible heritage.

A distinctive feature of our work involves advocating for traditional sports and games as essential mechanisms for fostering inclusivity, particularly benefiting children with disabilities to improve their well-being. We engage in a variety of activities including partnerships, educational initiatives, workshops, and project creation to achieve our objectives.

IRSIE’s staff is made up of sports and physical education experts thanks to whom, through their commitment to inclusive sports and traditional games, we create a positive impact on the lives of young people. We are aware of the importance of traditional sports as an important element of the intangible heritage of humanity. We work with passion and belief that much remains to be discovered, and our determination to act will allow us to effectively promote the sports of traditional nations of the world.

The National Institute of Physical Education of Catalonia (INEFC) is an autonomous body of the Generalitat de Catalunya, attached to the Department of the Presidency, through the General Secretary of Sport. Together with the Catalan Sports Council and the High Performance Center of Catalonia, they make up the three bodies that the Generalitat has to develop its sports policy.

The INEFC is the higher education center created by the Generalitat de Catalunya whose mission, according to the Sports Law, is the training, specialization and improvement of graduates in physical education and sport, and also for scientific research and the dissemination of their work or studies for training.

To fulfil this mission, INEFC has three campuses: the one in Barcelona, at Barcelona, the capital city of Catalonia, at the Olympic Park of Montjuic, created in the 1975-1976 academic year; the one in Lleida, at the east part of Catalonia, inaugurated in the 1982-1983 academic year, and the one in the Pyrenees, in La Seu d’Urgell, in the Pyrenees, dedicated to nature and mountain sports, created in 2021 as a center attached to INEFC Lleida. Academically, the Barcelona and Lleida and Pyrenees centers are attached to the University of Barcelona (INEFC Barcelona) and the University of Lleida (INEFC Lleida and Pyrenees), respectively.

This year, 2023, the INEFC HUB was born, a center dedicated to online master’s.

These academic centers have a staff of teachers with recognized experience in the field of teaching and in professional practice in the different areas of physical education and sport. Likewise, the INEFC has a staff of administration and services that guarantee the operational functioning of the institution.

Firstly, INEFC offers undergraduate studies: The three centers offer a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Activity and Sports Sciences, in addition, the center of Lleida offers a Double’s bachelor’s with Primary Education and another one with Physiotherapy.

About the Master’s degrees and Postgraduate studies, between Lleida, Barcelona and INEFC Hub, there are many options in the differents areas: Sport Performance, Physical Activity and Health, Sports Law, Sports Management, Physical Activity and Education.

Furthermore, there is the option to study a doctoral program in the area of Physical education and sports.

Research on sport is one of the main axes in the institution, INEFC participates in several research groups recognized by the Generalitat de Catalunya that develop their activity in the various laboratories of the centers. Some professors of INEFC were the principal investigator and collaborated with different National projects Research, development and innovation (I+D+I) and Erasmus + projects, and established International collaborations with other universities. To add, the institution has a predoctoral contracts grant and boosts to organise conferences and seminars.

Trakya Nature Sports Specialization Sports Club (TRAKDOSK) operates in the city center of Edirne, a historical city located in the western part of Turkey which is adjacent to the borders of Greece and Bulgaria, and in the Thrace region. It was established as a sports club in 2013. The main areas of activity of this club are nature sports and disabled sports.

Our club aims to contribute to public health, encompassing nature sports activities for everyone, providing sports opportunities for the disabled, and contributing to the preservation of nature and the environment.

It conducts official activities in sports branches that promote outdoor activities such as athletics, orienteering, mountaineering, special athletes, cycling, swimming, and underwater sports. It is a member of federations in these sports branches.

The organization officially has members and licensed athletes. In the athletics branch, it participates in domestic and international competitions, as well as city-wide and iconic races, with the aim of promoting a healthy lifestyle and developing a suitable model for it.

TRAKDOSK has organized various activities such as physical exercise activities tailored for children and adults, social responsibility initiatives, climate crisis-focused campaigns, and volunteer work, aiming to engage in local nature and sports policies. Our club promotes outdoor physical activity by combining traditional games with outdoor activities.

Trakya Nature Sports Specialized Sports Club, which has participated in and managed numerous local and international projects, has also been involved in youth projects on topics such as peer bullying, digitalization, and refugees. TRAKDOSK has participated in 2 Erasmus Sports Cooperation Projects, 1 BG-TR IPA Cross-Border Project, 1 Erasmus+ Youth Small Cooperation Project (K210), and 3 youth exchange projects.

VLAS – Flemish Traditional Sports, supports and promotes Flemish traditional sports at home and abroad. Together with its national sports federations and clubs, VLAS as an umbrella organisation wants to help strengthen and spread their sports, values and traditions. A focus on quality youth work, a healthy future perspective and respect for values and traditions safeguards our Flemish popular sports as active competitive and recreational sports for future generations.

VLAS was founded in 1988. The goal was the promotion of the practice of traditional sports as a competitive sport. VLAS quickly grew into an umbrella federation of 12 federations, over 25 traditional sports & games and over ten thousand playing members. These traditional sports include among others archery, ball, throwing and shooting sports. Our most practiced sport is popinjay which is still practiced weekly by thousands. In 2021, VLAS decided to adapt not only its operations but also its image towards the future to new emphases defined in our most recent policy plan: digitalization, communication and respect for traditions with a focus on youth and innovation. Passing on knowledge to the next generations as a crucial goal.

VLAS is a founding member of ETSGA – European Traditional Sport and Games Association and led the European project SETS – ‘Strenghtening European Traditional Sports’ in 2014-16 in which we helped building and expanding a network to strengthen European traditional sports and games.

VLAS – Flemish Traditional Sports -, supports and promotes Flemish traditional sports at home and abroad. nfinitivity Design Labs (IDL) is an SME studio based in the rural area of the French region of IDL is an expert on engagement through gamification, game-based learning, digital storytelling and training. IDL has developed several gamification and digital storytelling approaches and frameworks for the industry & academia and possesses considerable know-how both for the creation of gamified interactive content but also for interactive storytelling, mainly through its ActivePlay infrastructure. IDL can combine its previous experience in the fields of Human-Computer Interaction, participatory design techniques & methodologies and its technical infrastructure in the fields of gamification, gaming and digital narratives in order to co-create and develop digital narratives that address the specific learning and broader needs of the project’s target audience, along with other social and artistic actors participating in this project. IDL also specialises in Big Data analysis, through the application of NLP, Deep Learning and audiovisual semantic analysis.These can be used in fields of education, health, information, sustainability and cybersecurity. IDL has considerable expertise in image and audio signal analysis, having designed mobile audio analysis applications and audiovisual content understanding web services, with potential applications in learning, soundscapes, smart cities and other contexts.
